ERIC TOVELL

Vice President, Creative

As Vice President of Creative at Sony Pictures Animation, Eric Tovell oversees a wide variety of animated feature films including the box office monster “Hotel Transylvania” franchise.

Currently, Tovell is overseeing a slate of feature films and series projects that range from all-audience fare to more adult skewing projects including “Fixed,” the studio’s first original R-rated film from Genndy Tartakovsky. He also seeks out and acquires new original ideas, and intellectual property from storytellers and artists who have specific stories to tell. Additionally, he works with and supports directors, writers and artists throughout the process from concept to screen.

Prior to joining Sony Pictures Animation, Tovell worked as a creative executive at Walden Media on live action projects such as “The Chronicles of Narnia” franchise, “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” and “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”

Tovell began his entertainment career at the William Morris Agency. Before venturing into entertainment, Tovell was a radio DJ in the New England area.
