Executive Director, Recruiting

Jana Day has led the recruiting department at Sony Pictures Animation since 2003. In her role, Day is responsible for the global recruiting efforts and university outreach for all story artists, character artists, and visual development artists working with Sony Pictures Animation.

Jana has supported the film productions of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Emoji Movie,” “The Star,” the “Hotel Transylvania” series, the “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball” series, the “Smurfs” series, “Surf’s Up,” “Open Season,” “Jonah, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron,” “The Road to El Dorado,” and “The Prince of Egypt.”

Prior to joining Sony Animation, Day served as the director of recruiting for Big Idea Productions, where she was tasked with recruiting a full crew for the company’s first animated feature.

Day was previously tapped to help build DreamWorks Animation as the head of recruiting. In that role, she was instrumental in establishing the studio and staffing several productions.

Day began her career in animation at Warner Bros. Television Animation, where she was manager of human resources.

A native of Chicago, Day is a graduate of Coe College, and holds degrees in psychology and business administration.
